Things You’ll Need:
1. Calculator
2. Scale (Parent’s Note: A traditional, analog bathroom scale is best for this activity.)
3. Pencil
4. Piece of Paper
5. A grown-up to lift you up!

How to make your very own Moonwalk:
1. Step on a scale.
2. Write down your weight.
3. Take out your calculator.
4. Multiply your weight by 0.165.
If you haven’t done multiplication in school yet, ask an adult or older brother or sister to help you.
Here’s an example: 90 pounds x 0.165= 14.85 pounds (round up to 15).
5. Now go and ask a grown-up friend or parent to help you with the next steps.
6. Ask him or her to stand behind you and support your weight.
7. The grown-up can slowly start to lower you until the scale shows your moon weight.
8. Now, walk around the room with your friend supporting the bulk of your weight. He or she should hold you just as firmly as when you saw your moon weight on the scale.
That, space explorers, is what it feels like to walk on the Moon!
Fun Challenge:
Can you find objects on Earth that weigh about the same as what you would weigh on the moon?
